After a busy day with local community programs, the GSE team was taken to the Metro Centre Hotel for their first presentation! The club members very warmly welcomed the team and wanted us to sing and dance 'through' our presentation! The creativity of the team accepted the challenge and sang a medley of aussie songs much to the rapt applause of the Rotary members!! The club members then sang back to the team!!!
This 'set the scene' for a wonderful evening. The GSE team 'official' presentation was very well received and all team members did a terrific job with much applause.
After the meeting we were invited to a disco (downstairs) for more dancing and singing!!
Oh what a fiesta Island!!
The team looked forward to the next day of leisure and rest and took the option to travel to an adventure park for abseiling and rock climbing!! A very fit and healthy team indeed....all promising to last the distance!! Bravo!!
An early start is expected on Friday 18th February, where the team will tour the countryside, visit the Baclayon Church, go python watching (Martin will be pleased!!), see the Tarsier (the world's smallest monkey), visit the 'chocolate hills' and finish with a sunset cruise on the Loboc River!
Wish you were here !
More soon.
The Rotary Foundation’s Group Study Exchange (GSE) program is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for businesspeople and professionals. The program provides travel grants for teams to exchange visits in paired areas of different countries. Team members experience the host country's culture and institutions, observe how their vocations are practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas.
